Legal experts, scholars offer insights on advancing rule of law

The Office of the Commission for Law-based Governance of the CPC Central Committee, together with the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education and the China Law Society, held a seminar on Dec 11 on how to comprehensively advance the rule of law under the guidance of CPC Central Committee General Secretary Xi Jinping's new idea, thinking and strategy.

Fu Zhenghua, deputy director of the office and the Minister of Justice, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

At the seminar, 28 prominent legal experts and scholars talked about the major issues and challenges of comprehensively advancing the rule of law and made suggestions on the planning and measures to promote law-based governance in China.

Fu pointed out that the seminar was a good exploration and opportunity to study Xi's new idea, thinking and strategy on the rule of law.

Fu said that efforts must be made to further improve communication and cooperation to make new achievements in theoretical research.

Yuan Shuhong, Jing Hanchao and Xiong Xuanguo, members of the Office of the Commission for Law-based Governance of the CPC Central Committee, and officials from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education and the China Law Society attended the seminar.
