Ministry of Justice holds teleconference on community corrections law

The Ministry of Justice held a teleconference on May 12 in which it called on the country's judicial administrative system to grasp the upcoming community corrections law.

Speaking in the teleconference, Tang Yijun, the newly-appointed Minister of Justice, stressed the importance of deeply understanding the significance of the law, which is set to take effect on July 1, so as to renovate the community correction work.

Tang called for strengthening the building of community correction institutions and committees, raising staff's professional quality, encouraging the participation of all of society, enhancing the supervision and education of the individuals under community correction, and reinforcing basic and technological support in order to create favorable conditions for carrying out the work.

Judicial administrative officials from various provinces including Fujian, Jiangsu, Hunan, Anhui and Liaoning also shared their thoughts during the teleconference.
