Minister of Justice Tang Yijun has called on judicial administrators to give full play to their functional roles and strengthen their efforts in poverty elimination.

Tang made the remarks when surveying the poverty relief work in Southwest China's Sichuan province on Oct 31.

During his tour, Tang visited Yuntai village to which the ministry provides direct poverty relief support, examining the local sheep farm, the Party's service center, the exhibit hall of the village's history and some registered impoverished households. He fully recognized the progress the village has made in getting rid of poverty.

Stressing that China's achievement in poverty elimination is a miracle in that area of human history, Tang asked judicial administrators to maintain their focus on the work in order to achieve long-lasting effect.

He also called for mustering strength to propel the work at a deeper level, overcoming shortcomings through innovation, and advancing common prosperity by associating poverty relief with rural revitalization.

Vice-Minister of Justice Xiong Xuanguo also participated in the survey.
