Shaanxi further advances foreign-related commercial mediation services

Shaanxi province has further advanced its foreign-related commercial mediation services to provide targeted support for the economic and trade exchanges between Chinese and foreign enterprises, and consolidate the legal foundation for the high-quality development of the province's foreign-related legal system and export-oriented economy.

The Shaanxi Mediation Center has signed specialized cooperation agreements with the Provincial High People's Court, the Silk Road Arbitration Center under the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, and the Xi'an Han-Tang Public Notary Office in the provincial capital Xi'an to establish a regular coordination mechanism integrating mediation with litigation, arbitration, and notarization.

This mechanism aims to address pain points in foreign-related disputes, such as lengthy resolution timelines, cumbersome procedures, and enforcement difficulties. It will enable a seamless, end-to-end process covering early prevention, flexible mediation, enforceability confirmation, and closed-loop implementation, significantly enhancing the professionalism, authority, and effectiveness of foreign-related commercial dispute resolution across the province.

The Shaanxi Mediation Center has announced three global strategic partners: the Association of Chinese Lawyers in Europe, the Malaysia China Legal Cooperation Society, and the Academy of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Joint Mediation Limited. Through these partnerships, the center will fully integrate professional foreign-related legal service resources from Europe, ASEAN countries, and the GBA, building a cross-border mediation network covering countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. This will further expand the international reach of Shaanxi's commercial mediation services.

In recent years, enterprises in Shaanxi have shown an increasing demand for cost-effective, efficient, and collaborative professional foreign-related legal services. As a key platform for the province's foreign-related legal system development, diversified resolution of foreign-related commercial disputes, and support for enterprises' global expansion, the Shaanxi Mediation Center has actively responded to the international development needs of local businesses. The center has handled foreign-related commercial disputes involving a total amount exceeding 300 million yuan ($44.19 million), serving an average of over 500 enterprises annually, with services covering foreign-related scenarios such as cross-border trade and investment, as well as intellectual property rights.

As foreign-related commercial mediation services continue to expand, the legal foundation for the high-quality development of Shaanxi's foreign-related legal system and export-oriented economy has been steadily consolidated.
