The Seminar for Legal Professionals from Belt and Road Partner Countries was held in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, from Oct 11 to 16. Hosted by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) of China, the seminar brought together officials from the justice ministries of nine countries: Indonesia, Cape Verde, Djibouti, Madagascar, Mozambique, Cuba, Argentina, Ecuador, and Chile.

The seminar was a concrete measure taken by China's MOJ to implement the guiding principles of the important remarks on the Belt and Road Initiative by President Xi Jinping. By regularly organizing high-level seminars on legal services, the MOJ aims to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Belt and Road partner countries in law and judicial administration.
Focusing on diversified dispute resolution mechanisms, the seminar placed particular emphasis on promoting Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and elaborating on China's vision, propositions, and successful practices in foreign-related rule of law. Officials from the relevant policy-making departments and renowned legal experts delivered in-depth lectures.
The seminar also adopted a comprehensive approach combining classroom sessions, discussions, field visits, and cultural activities, enabling participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of China's recent initiatives and achievements in advancing the rule of law, as well as its open and inclusive rule-of-law culture and commitment to harmonious coexistence.

Participants spoke highly of the remarkable achievements China has made in advancing the rule of law. They expressed willingness to make full use of the seminar to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in legal and judicial administration among Belt and Road partner countries and contribute rule-of-law strength to advancing Belt and Road cooperation.

This seminar was co-hosted by the Justice Department of Shaanxi and organized by Shaanxi Normal University.
