The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) has opened a special section on its online service platform for lawyers, aiming to enhance the protection of their right to practice law.

If they suspect their practicing rights have been infringed upon or impeded, lawyers can file complaints with procuratorate organs through the SPP's service hotline, 12309, or on its website, public WeChat account or app, according to the SPP which promises a quick response to the complaints.

The launch of the special section is the SPP's latest move to guarantee lawyers' practicing rights. Last year, it opened up a green channel on its service platform to receive complaint letters from lawyers.

The SPP says that it will ramp up its effort to address lawyers' difficulties in visiting their clients, reviewing judicial records and defending their clients in court, among other matters.

It will also invite lawyers to public complaint hearings.
