Gansu lays down standards for promoting primary-level democracy, rule of law

In its latest move to improve law-based primary-level governance, the Commission for Law-based Provincial Governance of Northwest China's Gansu province recently adopted a set of guiding standards for building democratic and law-based demonstration villages and communities across the region. 

The document sets out 20 standards in five aspects – improving primary-level organizations, regulating primary-level democracy, advancing the building of rule of law, promoting harmonious economic and social development, and providing strong organizational guarantees.
