Ministry of Justice moves to improve review and filing of regulations, rules

The Ministry of Justice reviewed and filed a total of 2,046 regulations and administrative rules from government agencies around the country in 2020, said the ministry.

The filed documents include 1,353 local regulations, 544 rules of local governments and 149 rules of departments of the State Council.

The ministry took a series of steps to improve the filing and review work last year. For example, it set up an expert committee made up of 25 scholars, judges and lawyers in the hope of improving the accuracy and credibility of the work.

To further standardize the procedure and reduce the burden on primary-level authorities, the ministry, on the one hand, strengthened its coordination in the work with the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. On the other hand, it built a unified platform for the filing of local regulations.

The ministry also enhanced its guidance and support for organs responsible for drafting regulations and administrative rules.
