Since the launch of the Party history learning campaign, the judicial department of East China's Jiangxi province has adopted eight specific measures to address people's pressing concerns.

Expanding use of videoconferencing to township-level

By increasing the capacity of its remote meeting system, the department has enabled residents in counties across Jiangxi to seek legal advice online.

Incorporating legal service into mobile government service platform

In an effort to facilitate public access to legal services, the department has opened a legal service section on the province's mobile government service platform. With the new function, residents of Jiangxi can now receive lawyers' services and notarization on their smart phones.

Publicizing Civil Code

To celebrate the first anniversary of the promulgation of China's Civil Code, the department organized teams of legal professionals to publicize the code in villages and urban communities. Apart from giving lectures, the teams also handed out pamphlets illustrating the code to residents during their tours.

Establishing industry-specific mediation organizations

The department has cooperated with the provincial housing and urban-rural department to set up specialized mediation organizations for the real estate and property management industries in order to better resolve disputes in those areas.

Enhancing legal aid for migrant workers

To eradicate the issue of back pay for migrant workers, the department has exempted from these workers from the review of their economic difficulties when they apply for legal aid regarding back pay or work-related injuries. It also extended the coverage of administrative legal aid to pneumoconiosis patients and unemployed families.

Establishing mechanism for lawyers to provide pro bono services

So far, 12 lawyers' teams across Jiangxi have been set up to provide the public with pro bono legal services face to face or on various social media platforms such as WeChat and Weibo.

Expanding coverage of 'one visit at most' notarization

As the result of the department's effort to expand the coverage of its "one visit at best" notarization service, the number of affairs covered by the service has increased from 39 to 50.

Establishing dedicated judicial authentication center for women and children

Cooperating with the general office of the provincial government and the provincial women's federation, the department has established a number of special judicial authentication centers for woman and children in an effort to better protect rights of those groups with legal and valid evidence.
