With the support of the Ministry of Justice and the National Development and Reform Commission, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and Guangzhou Arbitration Commission (Online GZAC) actively participated in work related to the online dispute resolution (ODR) mechanism construction of the APEC Economic Committee, exploring fast and low-cost ODR services for small cross-border business to business disputes through improving the platform process, making corresponding rules and optimizing service charges.

The CIETAC and Online GZAC were officially listed as ODR providers of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and were listed on APEC's official website on May 1, 2022.

In February 2022, the online dispute resolution service activity was officially launched on APEC's official website. Those eligible providers' websites were linked on the APEC's official website to provide online dispute resolution services for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in need. The China University of International Business and Economics Law School provided academic support for APEC's ODR mechanism construction.

The CIETAC and Online GZAC were included in the first list of ODR providers that were promoted by the APEC, which is of positive significance to enhance the international influence of China's arbitration institutions in internet arbitration and better serve cross-border commercial dispute resolution for the MSMEs.
