Minister of justice underlines efforts to advance rule of law at grassroots level and high-quality development of judicial administrative work

He Rong, deputy head of the Office of the Commission for Overall Law-Based Governance of the CPC Central Committee and minister of justice, called for efforts to thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and the two sessions, fully practice Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, and fulfill duties to provide strong legal guarantees for high-quality economic and social development.

He Rong made the remarks during a survey trip to Northwest China's Shaanxi province from March 19 to 20.

She visited the legal publicity and education center of Baota district, the dispute mediation committee and the Zaoyuan judicial office of Yan'an city. She had an in-depth exchange of views with the staff and learned in detail about the current situation of law popularization, dispute types, the success rate of mediation, problems existing in community correction, education and management activities, as well as the construction of judicial offices.

She noted that efforts should be made to innovate legal publicity and education methods to improve the people's legal literacy in a manner well received by the public; to closely focus on the most pressing difficulties of concern to the people and improve public legal services; to uphold and develop the "Fengqiao model" in the new era, create a coordinated mediation pattern, and adopt more effective measures to resolve disputes at the grassroots level; to strengthen the standard construction of judicial offices and improve work related to community correction, education and management activities, so as to reduce the recidivism rate; and to optimize legal supervision by making it more targeted and effective, in a bid to help make new achievements in law-based governance.

In the provincial justice department, she learned about the province's progress in law-based governance and judicial administrative work, and visited government officials and prison anti-drug policemen. She raised specific requirements for strengthening political construction, enhancing capacity building, upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground, and conducting in-depth research to enhance team building.
