Ministry of Justice appoints 17 special supervisors for administrative reconsideration

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) recently held an open day for the publicity of the Administrative Reconsideration Law and the appointment ceremony for the first group of specially invited supervisors for administrative reconsideration.

Hu Weilie, vice-minister of the MOJ, presented letters of appointment to 17 specially invited supervisors and addressed the event.

Hu emphasized that the establishment of the system of specially invited supervisors for administrative reconsideration is an important step in implementing the newly revised Administrative Reconsideration Law and fully leveraging the role of administrative reconsideration as the main channel for resolving administrative disputes. It is also an institutional innovation in practicing the concept of people-centered administrative reconsideration, as well as in strengthening work in this field, he said, expressing his hope that the supervisors will play an active role in social supervision, providing advice, helping strengthen communication between relevant parties, and guiding public opinion, in a bid to advance the high-quality development of administrative reconsideration work in the new era and accelerate the construction of a law-based government.

During the event, deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, as well as representatives of enterprises and communities, were invited to visit the ministry's working office to gain a comprehensive understanding of China's administrative reconsideration work, including its current system, history and achievements. Officials from the ministry's Bureau of Administrative Reconsideration and Response briefed the participants on the recent situation of administrative reconsideration in China. Discussions and exchanges were conducted around the implementation of the newly revised Administrative Reconsideration Law, with participants offering opinions and suggestions.
