An advanced training program for officials from the justice ministries and legal affairs departments of the six Lancang-Mekong countries was held in Nanning, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, from Dec 23 to 27, during which a consultation meeting on the mechanism for legal and judicial exchanges and cooperation among the six countries was also held.
China's Vice-Minister of Justice Wang Zhenjiang and Miao Qingwang, secretary of the Political and Legal Commission of the Communist Party of China Guangxi Autonomous Regional Committee, addressed the closing ceremony of the training program.
The training program focused on promoting Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and China's achievements in the development of the rule of law. It also featured in-depth presentations on China's national conditions and legal culture, as well as the country's efforts in promoting foreign-related legal services, particularly expounding on the mechanisms for one-stop diversified resolution of international commercial disputes arising from projects under the Belt and Road Initiative. Through field visits, exchanges and interactions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the unique charm of China's fine traditional legal culture and recent developments in the rule of law.
Participants lauded the remarkable achievements China has made in promoting the rule of law. They expressed a willingness to further strengthen pragmatic cooperation and exchanges in the fields of law and judicial administration among the Lancang-Mekong countries, and build platforms for exchanges and mutual learning among judicial administration departments of the six countries, providing solid legal support for continuously deepening and substantiating the building of a Lancang-Mekong community with a shared future.
During the training, representatives from the justice ministries and legal affairs departments of the six Lancang-Mekong countries held consultations on establishing a mechanism for legal and judicial exchanges and cooperation and reached a consensus on future cooperation.
The training program was hosted by China's Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and co-organized by the Justice Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Officials at the department and bureau level from the justice ministries and legal affairs departments of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as those from China's MOJ and provincial-level judicial administrative organs, participated in the training.
