Liaoning launches maritime arbitration alliance to foster regional collaboration

A regional cooperation alliance for maritime arbitration was established recently in Northeast China's Liaoning province, marking a significant step forward in promoting the rule of law and marine economic development in the region. The alliance was initiated by the Arbitration Commission of Dalian, together with arbitration commissions of five other coastal cities within the province — Dandong, Jinzhou, Yingkou, Panjin, and Huludao.

According to a provincial justice official at the signing ceremony, the alliance aims to promote in-depth integration of the resources of arbitration institutions across the six coastal cities, focus on key industries along the Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt, and fully leverage the unique advantages of arbitration — such as professionalism, efficiency, flexibility, and confidentiality — in resolving maritime disputes.

The official added that the alliance will integrate high-quality arbitration services into the whole process of the province's marine economy development, and provide full-chain dispute resolution services for maritime-related enterprises, in a bid to make greater contributions to the building of a law-based business environment within Liaoning.

Following its launch, the alliance will utilize regional advantages including the province's free trade zone and Belt and Road pilot zone to capitalize on strategic opportunities. It will establish an interconnected system enabling collaboration, information sharing, and mutual recognition, while developing shared platforms, unified standards, and a joint talent pool to integrate services. By actively supporting Liaoning's key economic projects, the alliance aims to create a cluster effect that will strengthen the province's marine economy and advance law-based governance.
