The Ministry of Justice (MOJ), along with the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the All China Lawyers Association, recently launched the seventh national campaign to honor lawyers making outstanding contributions to the protection of workers' rights and interests.

The campaign is aimed at enhancing the role of lawyers in protecting workers' rights and interests, building harmonious labor relations, and promoting social fairness and justice.

Among the requirements, candidates must have actively participated in worker-related affairs such as development of relevant laws and regulations, legal publicity and dispute mediation.

They must also been keen on providing legal aid and services for workers and labor unions, and won wide recognition among them.

To ensure the objectivity and fairness of the campaign, measures including expert review and field visits were added to its procedures.

Eventually, ten lawyers will be honored as a National Outstanding Lawyer in that regard.

The campaign started in 2006 and has been held every two years. So far, 59 lawyers have been awarded the title.
