BEIJING -- Law-based governance has been further promoted in China with notable progress made in various areas, according to a report made public Thursday.
The 2018 annual report on China's rule of law was released by the China Law Society.
It said the National People's Congress and its standing committee have made notable achievements in developing socialist rule of law in areas including legislation, administration, judicial reform, intellectual property protection and ecological conservation.
Laws regarding high-quality development and improvement of people's wellbeing have been adopted, said the report.
It noted that the institutional reform of the State Council and local governments was successfully carried out.
China's legal protection for human rights has been strengthened, the report said, adding that the country also stepped up its international anti-corruption cooperation as well as the legal protection for the Belt and Road Initiative.
