The much-anticipated list of role models from the publicity campaign of New Models of Justice for the People in a New Era was released by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) on Jan 18.
One hundred and ninety-two individuals and nine groups stood out from 605 candidates from across the country, receiving the role model title.
The first large-scale publicity campaign since the MOJ's restructuring, the year-long campaign was launch in mid-November, 2018. It was co-hosted by the MOJ and several news organizations including People's Daily, China Media Group, Guangming Daily, Legal Daily and the online video website iQIY.
The 201 newly-entitled role models represent all aspects of China's judicial administrative work, including administration legislation, prison management, community correction, drug rehabilitation, administrative reconsideration, supervision of administrative law enforcement, law popularization, mediation, lawyer profession, grassroots legal services, notary services, legal aid, forensic services, arbitration and the national legal profession admission exam.
The campaign is expected to contribute to the country's overall law-based governance as well as its judicial administration.
