In a circular released on its website on Jan 23, the Ministry of Justice publicly praised 92 medical workers who are currently fighting COVID-19 in several prisons in Hubei province, the epicenter of the virus outbreak in China.

The lauded medical workers are from local judicial administrative systems of 11 provincial-level regions including Tianjin municipality, Shanxi province and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Under the ministry's arrangement, they were dispatched to Hubei to help prevent the spread of the virus in local prisons.

The ministry stated that these medics have displayed a strong awareness of the overall situation and a lofty spirit of dedication despite potential sacrifices, which inspires judicial administrative staff all over the country in their battle against the virus.

The ministry encouraged the medics to keep their upbeat attitude and ordered the judicial bureaus and departments of their home regions as well as Hubei province to care about their well-being so that they can focus on their work free of distractions.
