East China's Shandong province has been carrying out administrative punishments and administrative compulsory activities via an online system since last October, drawing on the internet to advance transparency of law enforcement activities and online information disclosure.

Developed by the province's judicial department, the system enables the online handling, recording, supervision and disclosure of administrative punishments and administrative compulsory activities implemented across the province.

Through an app on their smart phones, administrative law enforcers are able to upload the case information on the spot, which dramatically raises their work efficiency.

Forty-two provincial or state-level agencies stationed in Shandong as well as 16 cities of the province have been connected to one another in the system which so far has collected information about 13,716 law enforcement inspections, 83,126 administrative punishments and 329 administrative compulsory activities.

Furthermore, the department has also realized the complete online handling of administrative reconsideration cases via an online management platform which also facilitates public supervision over case handling.
