Districts in the capital city of Beijing have taken various measures to promote China's first Civil Code, with desirable results.

Using subways

The judicial department of Tongzhou district, joined by the local procuratorate and the first branch of Beijing Subway Ltd, drew on the district's massive subway system to promote the code in subway trains.

They distributed more than 2,000 promotional materials to passengers highlighting the code's provisions on such issues as property, contract, marriage and family during the campaign.

So far, the district has held over 70 lectures and nearly 200 publicity events and distributed more than 20,000 copies of material in its promotional campaign for the code.

Targeting enterprises

Focusing on enterprises, the judicial department of Changping district recently cooperated with the local court to hold a lecture on the code in an industrial park.

The legal expert thoroughly explained the code to employees, breaking down issues ranging from its overall significance to its provisions closely related to their daily lives. He also drew on real cases to facilitate the audience's understanding.
