The judicial department of East China's Zhejiang province recently carried out an inspection campaign to examine the province's progress in advancing business licensing reform aimed at making it easier for newly-licensed enterprises to start operations.
During the campaign, the department adopted a variety of measures, including on-site inspections, record reviews, telephone inquiries of enterprises, visits to enterprises and questionnaires and face-to-face public inquiries, to examine 11 issues concerning business licensing such as whether administrative authorities have complied with statutory approval procedures, properly conducted in-process and post-event supervision, or effectively implemented supporting measures for the reform.
The departments responsible for construction, culture and tourism, health, agriculture and rural affairs, market regulation and drug administration of 11 cities with districts and 49 county-level regions were inspected during the campaign.
The campaign yielded positive outcomes as more than 80 problems were found and 51 notifications about these problems were issued.
