Vice-minister of justice urges high-quality development of rule of law in Guangxi

During a tour of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Jan 13 to 14, Vice-Minister of Justice Xiong Xuanguo stressed the importance of adhering to Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law in advancing the high-quality development of the rule of law.

While surveying both capital city Nanning and Chongzuo, Xiong, who is also a member of the Office of the Commission for Overall Law-based Governance of the CPC Central Committee, convened a symposium to discuss law-based governance at regional, city and county levels, as well as the Party building work in lawyers' profession. 

He also visited grassroots police officers, legal service workers and lawyers in the two cities.

Xiong urged great efforts to study, publicize and implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, and to deepen the development of the rule of law using the Thought as the guideline. 

He called for the effective implementation of the rule requiring top Party and government officials to take principal responsibility for promoting the rule of law as well as good performance in local legislation, administrative law enforcement, rule of law in matters involving foreign parties and promotion of the rule of law at the grassroots level.

Xiong also demanded effective coverage of the Party building work in the lawyers' profession.
