Vice-minister of justice surveys promotion of overall law-based governance in Sichuan

Vice-Minister of Justice Xiong Xuanguo led a survey of the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and the spirit of the central conference on work related to overall law-based governance in Southwest China's Sichuan province from Oct 20 to 23.

The survey team held talks with officials at the provincial, municipal and county levels, as well as grassroots representatives in Chengdu and Guangyuan. They also visited several sites, including the Comprehensive Service Center of Tianfu Central Legal District, during their trip.

Xiong, also a member of the Office of the Commission for Overall Law-Based Governance of the CPC Central Committee, stressed the need to implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and to ensure the effective implementation of top-level design for overall law-based governance by developing rule of law promotion plans based on local conditions.

He called for improving leadership systems and mechanisms for advancing law-based governance at the county level, addressing weak points and raising public satisfaction through progress in promoting the rule of law.

He also presided over a symposium to communicate with representatives from primary-level legal service institutions over forensic services, and visited Yuntai village in Guangyuan, which receives paired assistance from the Ministry of Justice.
