Legal publicity events held for people with disabilities

As athletes compete for the honors in the ongoing Beijing 2022 Paralympic Games, people with disabilities in the city were receiving legal education in a couple of events.

In the Mentougou district, lawyers from a local law firm explained such common marital and family disputes as divorce, division of property, child support and mutual property through typical legal cases in a public lecture.

In Yanqing district, legal publicity volunteers introduced the legislative process and purposes as well as its significance of the Civil Code in plain and accessible language. They also used easy-to-understand cases to interpret articles on guardianship, marriage and family, inheritance, residence rights and social responsibility to assist persons with disabilities. 

The events have helped attendants better understand laws and regulations that are closely related to their lives and further empowered them to protect their legitimate rights and interests.
