Hainan adopts multiple measures to enhance quality of judicial forensics

The public legal service administration bureau of Hainan, China's southernmost province, has unveiled 12 targeted measures to boost the high-quality development of its judicial forensics.

In accordance with the action plan to further enhance judicial forensics and judicial credibility from 2022 to 2024 jointly released by the General Office of the Ministry of Justice and the General Office of the State Administration for Market Regulation, these measures are mainly aimed at enhancing team capacity building, improving systems and mechanisms and strengthening supervision and management.

Specifically, the administration has rolled out eight measures in order to establish a comprehensive quality management system, including the overall verification of the forensic service institution's qualification, information sharing and communication with the market regulators, and building of an expert team in judicial forensics.

Other measures include training programs on forensic standards and procedures for practitioners in key positions such as management, as well as technology and quality personnel and training programs on judicial forensic-related  laws and regulations for the managerial staff of judicial administrative organs and personnel of industry associations.

To date, Hainan has 32 judicial forensic institutions, covering four major categories of forensic experts, physical evidence, audio and video information, as well as environmental damages.
