Vice-Minister of Justice Wang Zhenjiang met with a delegation of the Hong Kong Bar Association led by its Chairman Victor Dawes in Beijing on April 14.

They held an in-depth exchange of views on issues of common concern, such as the development of the legal profession in the mainland and Hong Kong.

Wang noted that, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, the Ministry of Justice has steadily advanced the opening up of legal services to Hong Kong, deepened exchanges and cooperation with the judicial and legal circles in Hong Kong, and provided solid legal guarantees for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

He said he hopes that the Hong Kong Bar Association would extend legal support to the steady and sustained development of the cause of "one country, two systems".

Dawes expressed his expectation of strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the mainland and working together to promote the country's rule of law.
