Wang Zhenjiang, China's vice-minister of justice, met with Rosabel Gamón Verde, first vice-minister of justice of Cuba, in Beijing on Nov 2.

The two sides held an exchange of views on enhancing pragmatic cooperation on the legal and judicial fronts between the two ministries.

Wang briefed Gamón on China's remarkable achievements in the rule of law as well as the work of China's Ministry of Justice in serving and providing guarantees for high-quality socioeconomic development, and promoting the Chinese modernization along the track of the rule of law.

Wang noted that China's Ministry of Justice is willing to maintain close communication and collaboration with the Ministry of Justice of Cuba, work together to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and enhance mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries in the legal and judicial fields.

These efforts will help to constantly enrich the connotations of the China-Cuba special friendly relationship in the new era and provide sound legal guarantees for the sustained, deepened and healthy development of bilateral ties, according to Wang.

Gamón spoke highly of China's achievements in socioeconomic development and the rule of law. She expressed the willingness to work together with China to continuously deepen exchanges and mutual learning, actively conduct pragmatic cooperation, and improve the people's wellbeing of both countries.

Mario Alzugaray, deputy head of the Cuban Embassy in China, also attended the meeting.
