Minister of justice meets with Singapore's chief justice

Minister of Justice He Rong met with a delegation of the Supreme Court of Singapore led by its Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon in Beijing on Nov 30. The two sides had pragmatic exchanges on strengthening cooperation.

He Rong briefed the delegation on China's historic achievements in promoting overall law-based governance under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, as well as the efforts of China's Ministry of Justice (MOJ) in serving and guaranteeing Chinese modernization based on its functions.

The minister noted the MOJ is willing to work with Singaporean legal and judicial circles, including the Supreme Court of Singapore, to continuously enhance mutual trust and cooperation in the legal and judicial fields and serve and guarantee the development of the all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership between China and Singapore under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders.

Sundaresh Menon lauded China's achievements in socioeconomic development and the rule of law, expressing the willingness to work with the MOJ for further pragmatic cooperation.

Vice-Minister of Justice Wang Zhenjiang, Singaporean Ambassador to China Tan Hai Chuan and grand justices of the Supreme Court of Singapore also attended the meeting.
