Minister of justice meets with Vietnamese deputy minister of public security

China's Minister of Justice He Rong met with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Long in Beijing on April 16. They had an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening cooperation in law enforcement and administration of justice.

He Rong said that the announcement made by the top leaders of the two countries on building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future with strategic significance has opened a new chapter in bilateral relations. The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) of China is ready to work together with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to effectively implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both countries and deepen cooperation on the transfer and management of sentenced persons, prison management, and community correction, in a bid to provide robust legal guarantees for the modernization of both countries and to promote more concrete outcomes in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

Long spoke highly of China's remarkable achievements in promoting the rule of law, and said that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security is willing to continue deepening exchanges and mutual learning with the Chinese side and to carry out pragmatic cooperation, so as to better benefit the people of both countries.

Chinese Vice-Minister of Justice Wang Zhenjiang also attended the meeting and held working talks with Long.
