Minister of justice meets with Vietnamese minister of public security and chairman of Commission for Internal Affairs of CPV Central Committee

On April 19, China's Minister of Justice He Rong held talks respectively with Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam and Phan Dinh Trac, a member of the Political Bureau, member of the Secretariat and chairman of the Commission for Internal Affairs of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam.

They had pragmatic exchanges of views on strengthening cooperation in law enforcement and administration of justice between China and Vietnam.

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo also attended the relevant activities.

During their respective meetings, He Rong briefed To Lam and Phan Dinh Trac on China's significant achievements in promoting the rule of law under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as well as the guiding principles of this year's two sessions.

She said that the announcement made by the top leaders of the two countries on building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future with strategic significance has opened a new chapter in bilateral relations.

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) of China is ready to work together with the Vietnamese side to effectively implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both countries, further deepen exchanges and mutual learning in the field of the rule of law, strengthen cooperation on law enforcement and judicial administration, and carry out pragmatic cooperation on the transfer and management of sentenced persons and the cultivation of legal talents in a bid to promote more concrete outcomes in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

To Lam spoke highly of China's remarkable achievements in promoting the rule of law. He said that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security is willing to further strengthen law enforcement and judicial exchanges and cooperation with the MOJ in line with the direction indicated by the top leaders of both parties and promote the implementation of the treaty on the transfer and management of sentenced persons so as to provide legal guarantees for the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

Phan Dinh Trac said that the Commission for Internal Affairs of the CPV Central Committee is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with China's relevant departments including the MOJ in the field of legal reform, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and effectively transform the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties into concrete actions in the legal and judicial sectors of both countries.

During the meetings, the MOJ and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two sides.
