China's Minister of Justice He Rong met with Brazil's Federal Comptroller General Vinícius de Carvalho in Beijing on Nov 13.
He Rong briefed Carvalho on the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the functions of China's Ministry of Justice (MOJ), saying that the bilateral relationship between China and Brazil has seen stable development and fruitful pragmatic cooperation in various fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 50 years ago.
The minister said that China's MOJ is willing to work with Brazil to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of both countries. Taking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity, the MOJ will actively expand channels for exchanges in the rule of law, and strengthen experience sharing and pragmatic cooperation in areas such as judicial assistance, anti-corruption legislation and personnel training, so as to continue to promote the deepening of the China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership based on their functions.
Carvalho lauded China's recent achievements in socioeconomic development and promoting overall law-based governance, and expressed a willingness to strengthen cooperation with China's MOJ in the legal and judicial fields to serve the development of the rule of law in both countries.
Brazilian Ambassador to China Marcos Galvao also attended the meeting.
