Minister of justice meets with Vietnamese ambassador to China

China's Minister of Justice He Rong met with Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh in Beijing on March 19.

He Rong briefed the Vietnamese delegation on the significant progress China has made in promoting the rule of law under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, as well as the guiding principles of this year's annual sessions of China's National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.

Noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, He Rong said that the bilateral relationship has seen steady and healthy development with substantial progress in cooperation across various fields.

China's Ministry of Justice is ready to work with the Vietnamese side to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the Communist parties of the two countries and further strengthen exchanges and mutual learning in the legal and judicial fields, she added.

The minister called for the implementation of this year's bilateral cooperation projects in the rule of law, and deepening cooperation in areas such as legal services, judicial assistance, the transfer and management of sentenced persons, legal talent cultivation, and the application of digital technology, in a bid to provide strong legal support for the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future with strategic significance, and better benefit the people of both countries.

Pham Thanh Binh congratulated China on the successful convening of this year's two sessions, and lauded the achievements China has made in promoting the rule of law. He said that the Vietnamese Embassy in China is willing to continue to serve as a bridge for promoting exchanges between the two countries, push for more practical outcomes in bilateral legal cooperation, and foster the development of bilateral relations.

Specific cooperation projects were also discussed.
