Vice-minister of justice meets with delegation of HK Law Society

Vice-Minister of Justice Hu Weilie met with a delegation led by Roden Tong Man-lung, president of the Law Society of Hong Kong, in Beijing on April 3. During the meeting, they discussed supporting lawyers from the region to participate in the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the rule of law.

Hu briefed the delegation on this year's annual sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, and the efforts of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) in implementing the decisions of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council to provide strong legal safeguards for GBA development.

He pledged the MOJ's continued support for Hong Kong's legal sector in leveraging its unique professional strengths to actively integrate into the country's overall development and in playing a greater role in areas such as professional exchanges and talent cultivation.

Tong thanked the MOJ for its support for the Law Society of Hong Kong, saying that the region's lawyers will redouble efforts to provide high-quality legal services for GBA development.
