Minister of justice attends 12th Meeting of SCO Ministers of Justice

On Oct 29, Minister of Justice He Rong attended the 12th Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Ministers of Justice via video link and delivered a keynote speech.

He Rong introduced the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and China's achievements in the rule of law. She expressed the country's commitment to working with the ministries of justice of other SCO member states to implement the major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping and the outcomes of the SCO Tianjin Summit, uphold the Shanghai Spirit, and continuously deepen exchanges and mutual learning in the legal and judicial fields.

She emphasized enhancing pragmatic cooperation in areas such as the application of digital technology in the rule of law, combating transnational organized crime, and cross-border dispute resolution. She also called for the regular organization of advanced training programs on legal services to provide strong legal support and safeguards for jointly promoting the steady and sustained development of the SCO.

The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Justice of Russia. Ministers of justice from SCO member states and representatives from the SCO Secretariat attended the meeting via video link, during which all parties signed a joint statement.
