The recent Exchange Conference on High-Quality Development of Foreign-Related Legal Services in Hefei, Anhui province, focused on advancing foreign-related legal services under the modernization of the rule of law.

Co-organized by the Anhui Provincial Lawyers Association, the Hefei Legal Services District Management Office, and the Anhui (Hefei) Foreign-Related Legal Service Center, the event highlighted strengthening the foreign-related rule of law to support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. It aimed to create a platform for industry exchange and build consensus on advancing foreign-related legal services within the province.

Luo Jianhua, director of the Justice Department of Anhui, addressed the conference, highlighting the need for Anhui to seize new opportunities as it accelerates efforts to build a highland for high-level opening-up.

Noting that enterprises entering the global market face complex legal challenges, such as compliance, intellectual property rights protection, and international commercial disputes, Luo called for professional and internationalized legal service teams to provide targeted and comprehensive legal services covering project negotiations, compliance reviews, and dispute resolution, thus establishing a law-based system that safeguards the entire lifecycle of cross-border investment and trade.

Luo stressed the need to deepen resource integration and adhere to an industry-oriented approach to legal services. By enhancing the effectiveness of the one-stop service platform and further leveraging the pivotal role of the Anhui (Hefei) Foreign-Related Legal Service Center, the province can better meet the legal needs of its open economy development, and promote the building of a new pattern of foreign-related legal services characterized by government guidance, market operation, and multi-party collaboration, he said.
