In a move to strengthen legal support for the high-quality development of its open economy and for local enterprises expanding globally, Sichuan province in Southwest China has recently launched a program delivering targeted foreign-related legal services directly to businesses in industrial parks across the province.
Jointly initiated by the province's commerce and justice departments, the move aims to provide targeted and professional legal services for foreign trade enterprises and help them tackle challenges in cross-border operations.
It focuses on key platforms across the province, including national economic development zones, major industrial parks and cross-border e-commerce parks, providing end-to-end legal support throughout the entire process of the cross-border operations of companies.
Covering such commercial areas as compliance management, intellectual property rights protection, investment risk assessment and dispute resolution, the program tailors service packages to foster a deep integration between legal services and industrial development.
Structured around a quarterly thematic approach, the program will focus on four major themes: high-tech innovation, advanced manufacturing, green trade and cross-border e-commerce.
Four innovative service models — platform empowerment, think tank empowerment, practical empowerment and tool empowerment — will be rolled out.
By establishing a comprehensive, multi-tier service system, the initiative aims to address the foreign-related legal challenges faced by enterprises, enhancing their global competitiveness and risk management capabilities.
As the start of the program, the first quarterly event focused on Sichuan's foremost industries, including the digital cultural innovation sector, artificial intelligence and biopharmaceuticals, advancing the regular involvement of high-caliber foreign-related legal service teams.
During the event, specialized training and compliance guidance were provided, along with tailored one-on-one solutions provided for enterprises with major overseas projects or complex disputes, offering efficient legal support to facilitate the steady global expansion of Sichuan-based enterprises.
