Henan launches this year's foreign-related legal service program

Henan province in Central China launched this year's foreign-related legal service program on March 20, with the goals of providing precise legal support to local businesses expanding overseas and better serving the Belt and Road Initiative. 

The program was jointly initiated by the Provincial Justice Department, Commerce Department and Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

The launch event featured a dedicated one-on-one consultation session between enterprises and legal service institutions, where legal professionals offered targeted guidance on key concerns such as cross-border investment and financing and intellectual property rights protection.

The session also involved assessments of potential operational risks and offered tailored legal solutions for businesses.

The year-long program focuses on multidimensional topics including legal services for enterprises, enhancement of arbitration service capabilities, follow-up on major trade and economic events, supply-demand matching and professional training.

Specific initiatives include organizing three specialized legal support campaigns targeting small and medium-sized enterprises and cross-border e-commerce businesses within the province. 

Furthermore, on-site foreign-related legal services will be provided at Henan's major trade and investment promotion events.

The program also features matchmaking activities to connect legal service institutions with foreign-related enterprises, specialized training programs for selected outstanding foreign-related lawyers from across Henan and regular lectures to disseminate practical knowledge on foreign-related legal practices.

Moving forward, the Justice Department of Henan pledged its continued focus on the evolving needs of businesses. By expanding service offerings and innovating service models, the department aims to  accelerate the establishment of a comprehensive foreign-related legal service system.

These efforts aim to enhance the professionalism, precision, and efficiency of legal services. The goal is also to offer higher-quality, more efficient, and more convenient legal support to foreign-related enterprises of the province, so as to provide robust legal safeguards for Henan's high-level opening-up.
