The China-France Notary Business Exchange Conference was held in Shanghai on March 30.
Li Mingzheng, China's vice minister of justice, Valérie Delnaud, director of civil affairs and the seal of the French Ministry of Justice, and Shu Qing, a member of the leading Party members group of the Shanghai Municipal Government, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
The conference was hosted by the China Notary Association and the Superior Council of Notaries (CSN) of France. It was co-organized by the Shanghai Notary Association and the Shanghai Sino-French Center for Legal and Notarial Training and Exchanges.
During the event, representatives from both countries introduced their notarial systems and latest developments.
Participants delivered keynote speeches on the role and functions of notarization in such areas as finance, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and the legal protection of intellectual property rights.
They also held in-depth exchanges on two key themes – "The Value of Notarization: Preventive Legal Systems and Rule of Law Development" and "Technological Empowerment for Notarization: The Digital Future and Legal Security".
During the conference, the China Notary Association and the CSN signed a cooperation agreement.
Nearly 200 participants attended the conference, including Jean-Paul Decorps, honorary president of the International Union of Notaries; Zhou Yuansheng, president of the China Notary Association; Bertrand Savouré, president of the CSN, as well as representatives from the notarial sectors of the two countries and experts and scholars in related fields.
